Description
Chestnut Street In San Francisco - ink drawing by the artist Irina Sztukowski.
When browsing Chestnut Street, it's easy to jog over to Union Street at Fillmore, since Chestnut's shops extend west from Fillmore while Union Street's extend east. The view from the corner of Chestnut and Hyde has enormous amount of historical points of view. You can see the Bay, Fisherman's Warf if strolling down to the famous Pier 39. The bay looks so beautiful and peaceful from there. And turning another way, you can see beautiful historical building built during the 1850s and the 1860s. The overall character of this area is a vintage mix of small historic houses and larger buildings such apartment complexes. San Francisco is like a museum under an open sky, which is maintaining the historic character of its neighborhoods.
